Aims and Objectives
Newcastle under Lyme is a historic market town which also offers a very varied shopping experience with a high proportion of smaller, individual specialist shops alongside national names in a pleasant open environment. The Chamber of Trade sets great store by this variety and style and seeks to preserve and maintain this special character.
For its members, the Chamber works to represent the whole spectrum of the area's business community within its membership - indeed this diversity is one of the strengths of the Chamber of Trade.
The Chamber has developed a strong working relationship with the Borough Council, Police and other groups. This allows it to liaise on and influence planning, traffic, parking, crime prevention and other key issues affecting the town's traders and shoppers.
